*Choose your pump size- 1/3 HP or 1/2 HP. 1/3 HP is optimal for pumping water up to 10′ high (head height) and 1/2 HP for pumping water over 10′ high.
*Choose your check valve style – Standard check valve is American made and offers a very long service life. The standard check valve is NOT lower quality than the others, in fact in many cases it is the best choice. The other option a white “quiet” check valve. The quiet check valve has a spring inside and helps soften the slam noise that can occur in pumping water over 5′.
*Choose if you need a filter sock. Filter socks should only be used in silt and sandy soils.

This pump kit was outstanding. It was very easy to install and much lower in cost than what I found individually. I was also pleased it worked so well with the vapor barrier and that it didn’t need a deep hole to set it into. That saved me a lot of time especially since I hit water at 3″ deep. This product along with the outstanding support and recommendations by the staff helped make my project a success.

The 15 Gal sump pump kit was as advertised. Looked high quality and worked high quality. The only down side was the actual barrel. On the website, the barrel looks factory cut vertically. Clean and easy to re-assemble once inside the crawl space. The one I received was cut in half horizontally and it was a terribly jagged cut that looked like it was done with little, or no care. Had to re-assemble with screws and plastic pieces that only aided in trying to cut our arms while trying to work with the barrel in the dug out hole since the screws protruded badly. Not too much thought involved with that method of separating and re-assembling the barrel. Otherwise…excellent.
