  1. Stephen

bought this product online after the 3 year old unit in my crawl space died. The builder unit quit. Wanted one that had low maintenance and would work for years. Easy to install. Connected up the old drain line and it is running like a charm.

  2. Fitz

Product has been installed for a week. working well. . Came quick and appears to be exceptional in all respects

  3. JC

This dehumidifier is a great alternative to the cheaper units from your local home improvement store. With a 5 year warranty, you can’t beat it.

  4. Roger Simms

Works great already had neighbor order his and another one soon. Fast delivery thanks so much!!!

  5. Brad

I was very impressed with the fast shipping. I had a question about installation prior to receiving the unit, and received a fast answer via email. It’s too soon to rate the durability of the unit, having only owned it for a couple of weeks. I had to give a rating of the durability in order to submit my review, so I gave the unit 3 stars. Hopefully, it will earn a 5-star rating over the coming years. The unit comes with a 5-year bumper-to-bumper warranty. I’ve purchased several dehumidifiers from the big box stores, and those units typically last one year. I’m hopeful that the Moisture Medic lasts a long time and continues to maintain the proper moisture level in my crawl space.

  6. Double K Ranch

It was as advertised and easy to install. Hung it from the joist, plugged it in, dropped the tube into an existing drain and hit the switch. Lots of moisture so it is working hard but I hope to see a difference in a week or two.

  7. Terry Jenkins

The dehumidifier looks good and operates great. Thanks.

  8. Bob Byrne

Actually didn’t know that it was an April Aire product till I unboxed it at the clients house. A pleasant suprise. Instuructution manual is sufficient and basic. Nice touch including an additional filter.

Runs quiet and was plug and play ready. You’ll need a driver to use the tort bit they provide to remove packing and brace on the compressor motor. The bit is included with the parts package.

Would recommend and buy again. Volunteer Mold and Indoor Air Quality Says this is a Recommended Vendor!

  9. ChadLester

I had called before purchasing and new that this is the Aprilaire 1820. The instruction were easy to understand and the unit is much quieter than expected. I have not had the unit long enough to properly review it as I don’t think that 4 days of operation qualifies for durability or quality. I know that at start up, my crawl space was at 84% RH and on the 3rd day it had come down to 67% RH. For the price and the warranty, I can’t say anything bad about this unit. GREAT VALUE!

  10. Jim B

Price was right, the process for purchase easy, shipped the next day, received 2days later. All went well. Installed this past weekend and all went very well. Unit is working as described.

  11. James

We recieved our Moisture Medi Dehumidifier in a timely fashion. So far it is operating as it should. I am satisfied with the unit and would order from CrawlSpaceRepair .com again.

  12. Robert Gilbert

So far so good. I really like the moisture medic. It is maintaining the humidity level easy.

  13. Terry H

Only had my Moisture Medic 70 for a week now, but so far it has met the expectations raised by the excellent reviews I read about it before I bought it. It is doing an outstanding job in my 2200 square foot crawl space. Easy to operate and set-up, love the way it shuts down when it reaches the proper rh. I cannot comment on the durability, but it appears well built. Based upon its performance after one week. I would definitely recommend it. Cannot beat the price either!!

  14. Bob

Words can not express how impressed I am with this product and Crawlspacerepair.com. I felt like I was a special customer when unpacking my Moisture Medic and then I read a note from the person who packed by product with pride. I immediately realized this was a different type of company. A company that understands customer service. I installed the MM in about 30 mins because I had already prepared a level cinder block stand for the Medic. Once installed and running, I new immediately this was a quality product. It is about a loud as a house fan and the humidity in my crawl space reduced by 10% in 2 hours and was down to 50% in 24 hours. Please understand the humidity started at 80% and has been as high as 99% the weeks prior to the installation of the medic. Currently my crawl space runs between 46% and 52%. This is without a doubt the best money I have paid for a home improvement project. The professionals wanted to change me $4200 to install an inferior product. I actually had an AC professional tell me I needed to change out all my duct work because the lack of insulation was causing my condensation problem. Since I have installed my Medic, the crawl space is dry as a bone….just what the Medic ordered! Thanks for providing great customer service and a great product!!

  15. BobG

I installed the unit with the option hanging mount. My crawl space was at 90% humidity. It removed 10 gallon the first day. I sealed the craw space vents and added duct to the input and output and the dehumidifier brought the humidity down to 60%. After one week it is down to 55%. So far I am pleased with the product.

  16. Randy

I installed the unit in my cellar crawl space in about 70 minutes using their support bracket and hangers. Was very straight forward and easy. I still have to connect PVC pipe to the pump so it can pump the water outside and not into a 6 gal bucket.

I turned it on that night and when I got home the next day this unit had filled the 6 gallon bucket and just started to over flow the top. What a product when I initially turned it in it analyzed the humidity which was 82 percent when I checked the next day after emptying the bucket it was at 69.
Very happy Ana pleased with this product!!!!!! I give it 6 ?? ??????????

  17. Daniel

Purchased the Moisture Medic shortly after I discovered mold in my crawlspace after Hurricane Florence, and decided to do remediation and encapsulate. Since I am still working on the remediation phase and my crawlspace isn’t quite sealed yet, the Moisture Medic has been running almost non-stop for several weeks now and hasn’t missed a step. I can watch a steady stream of water flowing out of the drain pipe and out of my crawlspace and the area has gone from wet sand to almost bone dry. Kudos. Next I will complete the encapsulation and permanently install the dehumidifier.

  18. Jeff

I bought and installed my dehumidifier in November of 2017, but I waited a year to write a review because I wanted to have some experience with the unit before issuing an opinion. After one full year of use I must say that I am very pleased. My crawl space was exceptionally damp when I bought this house. I dug a drainage ditch and installed a sump pump, installed new vapor barrier plastic, and then installed the dehumidifier. I still have moisture under the vapor barrier clearly visible, but everything is nice and dry above. I now have no signs of mold on any of the floor joists such as I had before. I would highly recommend this product.

  19. Bill Joerger

The 70 Pint Moisture Medic DH I ordered happens to be made by AprilAire, so you’re sure of a quality product. To get it through my small crawlspace opening, I had to remove it’s feet. But with use of the AprilAire hang kit, the feet weren’t to be used anyway. Perhaps it might have been easier with two people getting the DH into the crawlspace and into position, but I ended up doing it all by myself. Just inside my crawlspace, I placed in a small dolly. Pulled the DH through the opening and onto the dolly. From there I was able to slowly wheel the Moisture Medic over the 6 mil ground cover into the place to be hung. I went the extra mile ordering the Moisture Medic with the 8620W AprilAire Wi-Fi Thermostat. In my case, this is also to be installed in the Crawlspace allowing monitoring and control from one’s iphone or Android. Upon installing the 8620W, it’s backlight would not come on. Called AprilAire and together we determined it was defective. Within a couple weeks a replacement was sent via Crawlspaserepair. Installed it and it worked fine. All working well and the savings by DIY is considerable.

  20. Yentrof

Very satisfied. Product came in a timely manner, packed well, easily set up and performs as expected. It is being used in a encapsulated crawlspace. Dropped the level of humidity to 59% very quickly. The only thing that out performs the humidifier is the price. Great value!

  21. Phil k

While looking for a cheaper version of the aprilaire 1820 I found the site for crawspacerepair. This is where I found the moister medic. Read reviews stating it’s the same product. Decided to order since it was saving me money and it arrived in 2 days by UPS. Used it in house with a 63% rh and brought it down to 55% the first 24 hrs. I moved it to craw space before the area was sealed of just to see what the the was. Rh was 83%. Set moister medic at 59% and unit ran all night bringing % Rh down to 69% . Unit was running full time so I set it to 75% and now the UN sealed craw space is 75% and unit cycles on and off. Floors in cabin are warmer and Rh Inside stays at 55%. Out side temp is 6°f overnight and 11° day time. In March I have local company coming to encapsulat the craw space. Very happy with moister medic and the ordering process. I saved over $1000.00 by not using the unit the other company was selling me in the packaged deal.

  22. Louis

Product received exactly as specified; easy to install, great warranty……can’t rate durability as it is just installed

  23. Pek

Pulling moisture down very good. Can not be live it drying

  24. Dave D.

I’ve only had my moisture medic a week but have been impressed with its performance so far. I can’t really rate durability yet. The extra filter that came with it was damaged during shipping and with a quick phone call to their friendly associate I had a replacement coming right away at no charge. Customer service was excellent. I’d highly recommend them and their product.

  25. Mike

Very compact and easy to install. This was a replacement for a Santa fe unit that had given up after 10 years. Unit is very effective and quiet. If it stands the test of time it will have been a wise purchase

  26. Jonathan

The product came very well packaged and was easy to install.

  27. Gap32514

Dehumidifier has been installed and running for about a week now. So far it is keeping humidity regulated nicely. I would not recommend paying for the overpriced WiFi thermostat. There are much cheaper options to monitor the crawl space conditions. Once you set your unit you should not have to adjust it anyway. Never installed my thermostat but since the shipping box was opened it cannot be returned.

  28. Contractor

Installed easily in a damp crawl space. Reduced humidity by 10 points in 24 hours. Quiet, efficient. Works as advertised.

  29. Wayne L.

I purchased this unit a few months ago for my crawlspace. I waited to submit this review until after the more humid months have started. The unit has been keeping the humidity at the desired set point very steadily. I discovered, due to the size of my crawlspace, that setting the unit for 15 minutes per hour of air circulation helped even out the humidity level on both ends of the space. In addition, I like that I can access the control wiring to allow my external condensation pump’s float switch to be wired in for emergency cutoff in case of pump failure. All in all, very pleased with the unit and the price.

  30. Gregory John

It was an easy install done in less than 15 min. Turned it on and moisture started down the drain in the first 20 seconds. Its been a week now and its a real work horse. Also installed the sump pump….both units work well. Great products.

  31. John F

Would recommend this unit highly. Very easy to install with one minor opportunity for improvement. I ordered mine with the wifi thermostat (8620W) and the instructions on how to connect it to the dehumidifier were very poor. I called crawlspacerepair.com and the tech very quickly sent me the correct schematics to connect it. These instructions should be included with all shipments where the thermostat is selected. Other than this minor issue the whole process was excellent. This unit is amazing. Has taken the humidity in my crawlspace down from 70% to 51% in 3 days. The wifi unit is a must add so you can monitor the current conditions and adjust if needed. Would buy from this company again.

We only had Moisture Medic 70 for 2 months and it has exceeded our expectations. We are only dehumidifying 600 square feet. The insulation under the crawl space floor was drenched, you could ring it out like a T-shirt thrown into a bucket of water until we installed the Moisture Medic. The insulation was bone dry in 24 hours like it just came from the store. We have many power outages in our area and the Moisture Medic resets itself to the humidifying range you set it at when the power comes back on. Highly recommended.

  33. Andersen

Just installed the dehumidifier. Quite simple to do, then plunged it in to an outlet nearby and done. Saved about $ 1,500 by doing it myself, spending about 4 hours total for the installation and building the shelf it is now sitting on.
It would have been convenient, if the control panel was at the outlet end. The unit will typically be installed close to the entrance to the crawlspace, and adding a duct to have suction near the center of the crawlspace. With the control unit in the opposite end, the display can be seen without have to crawl around the unit.
The quality seems very good, but ask me in 10 years.

  34. M_Mc

I had a high humidity problem in my crawlspace, over 81%. I looked at several products, but settled on the Moisture Medic (rebadged Aprilaire 1820) with the 8082 communicating thermostat. I’m glad I did. I installed it and in one day the moisture level dropped 18 pts to 63%. After sealing the vents around the crawlspace and letting it work, the humidity level now stays around 55%, this morning it was 52%.

The installation wasn’t without issues, but Crawlspacerepair.com was great to work with. I worked with Larry to get it setup. The remote sensor (humidity and temp) would not work. It turned out I needed a separate 24 AC transformer (similar to the one for the fans) as the Moisture Medic 70 supplies 30v DC. Found a 24v AC 20VA (10va min was recommended), installed it, connected that to the thermostat and the system worked. I can now monitor/set the humidity level on my phone. This is the most cost effective solution out there!

  35. Martin

Very easy to setup since I already had a working pump in place. Installed dehumidifier in sealed crawlspace that had a humidity of 78%. After running for an hour both the meter on the dehumidifier and a separate meter read 10% lower. I set it to 55% and it reached that in less than 6 hours. I didn’t track close enough to know exact time. Very satisfied so far. Hope it works for a long time.

  36. Colwell

After much research I went with the Moisture Medic Dehumidifier 70. The dehumidifier has been installed and running for about two weeks. It is a great machine and far exceeded my expectation. I replaced a Ebac CS60 which failed in the first 6 months. The Moisture Medic reduced the humidity from 77% to 58% in the first 24 hours. It is now set at 50%. It was very easy to install right out of the box. I used the joist hangers and hung it my myself (age 85). I would highly recommend this unit. Plus it is made in the US.

  37. Walkers Supply

you can return open items, please beware!!!

  38. Noah Chapman

I’ve only had the moisture medic for several weeks so I can’t speak on how long it will last, but as far as I can tell it’s built very well. Craw space went from 70% humidity to 55% within 2 days. I will definitely be installing this same unit on our future jobs.

  39. Economy Crawlspace

I only use the April Aire from CrawlspaceRepair.com. Nobody touches the price and shipping time!

  40. Luczak

I can’t comment on product durability, because it was just installed. But overall impressed with entire experience. Packaged very well, and very easy to install using the hanging kit. Was able to install without any assistance.

  41. Torban Walker

The unit was very easy to install and setup. It works well. I wish I had bought it sooner. Thank you

  42. Keith Godlewski

Product was shipped and arrived promptly and in 24 hours reduced humidity in my crawlspace from 79% to 60!
Durability rating is tough to gauge after 2 days.

  43. JoeC

Purchased a Moisture Medic HC70 for under my 2200 square foot house in 2017. No more moisture, no more mold under my house. I installed a vapor barrier and sealed off my vents and stays dry. Very satisfied.

  44. SR

I installed this with the optional hanger kit in a dry (but damp) 1800sf crawlspace that was averaging 75-80% all the time. I foam board sealed the foundation vents, set the dryness to 50%, added 10′ of flexible duct to each end, including a Y on the out to divide air direction. It ran continuously for several days, but now that I’m a couple months into it it only runs once or twice a day for an hour. I did not notice a spike in electric bill. Crawlspace only has black plastic down, but it is full coverage and taped at seams, on a bed of fine gravel screening. The musty smell is gone, comfort and quality of air in crawlspace and house is wayyy better. I had some issues with a sound coming up into the house from the unit, but played with the ductwork a bit and it seemed to help. Not sure how long the unit will last, hopefully a long time given the price. I like to think you get what you pay for.

  45. Paul

Product arrived in 2 days. Just installed 2 days ago however it is performing awesome. I cannot comment in durability due to short usage however with a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty where can you go wrong. It is a genuine Aprilaire 1820. Very user friendly. Thanks again Crawl Space Repair.

  46. Thomas C. Denney Sr.

I rated it all 5s simply because I have only had it installed for a week so i really can’t say about durability or Quality but so far it seams to be doing a very good job holding my crawl space at 50 HR.

  47. William

I purchased the moisture medic HC70 . i have a 1700 sq ft. floor space in the crawlspace. Unit was easily installed. directions complete and accurate. The unit has only been in place a few days but i know it’s working because the water is coming out the drain . Will probably purchase the remote for it later so i don’t have to crawl under my house to see how it’s doing.

  48. Dry-Basement

I purchased my Moisturizer Medic HC70 to replace my Santa Fe Impact that started needing recharging every year after the warranty ran out. I have had just over a week and am very happy. It is a little more noisy, but I can live with that. Performance is what impresses me.

  49. Arnold

It was easy to install with the optional hanger kit. Lowered the humidity from 78% to 57% in less then 24 hours. Runs quiet can only hear it if the TV is off and you listen real hard from inside the house.

  50. Mike

Well built heavy duty dehumidifier that is perfect for the crawl space of your house. Love the five year warranty and the fact it was Made in USA. Ventilation feature is a nice plus of this unit. Running perfectly and doing the job of lowering humidity under the house. Highly recommend this unit Thanks.

  51. Rob W.

I bought this for my basement not a crawl space. My HVAC guy recommended it he said it is what he had in his home. I had a decent Dehumidifier when I purchased my home, it struggled to keep up but it did an OK job. When it crapped the bed I bought what appeared to be a highly rated one from a big box, it NEVER kept up. Once the warmer weather came it was noticeable. When I plugged in the Moisture Medic, almost immediately water started pumping through the line. Within 24 hours my basement smelled dramatically better. It is quite and is working well so far.

I’m a small contractor in East Tennessee. After installing no less than 60 units, I called AprilAire one day and asked “What do we do if we ever have a problem?”
In short, the he said “If we replace it, the 5-Year warranty starts over.
Change the filter in June and December and expect 15-18 years of service, minimum. Best unit on the market, Period !!

  53. Elmo

I’ve had my Moisturemedic installed now for about 4 months. Our crawl space is already encapsulated, and we have sealed off the foundation vents. Our house is about 1800sq ft. I bought the 70 pint version. So far this little unit has done the job very well and keeps the crawl space humidity right at 50% confirmed with an external humidistat. I took the sides off the unit to look at the guts and it is a simple design that would be easy to clean if the need every arises. The drain is completely on the bottom of the unit unlike the old unit I am replacing which kept getting clogged with algae. I was able to plumb the drain line into the 2″ shower drain line just upstream from the p-trap so that that the shower will keep water in the p-trap. The dehumidifier is quiet and is clearly made by Aprilair.

  54. Amber

I just installed my Moisture Medic in my crawl space this morning. I am not a professional and I’ve never worked with any air conditioners, HVAC systems, or dehumidifiers. The instructions are bare bones and provide little explanation on what the different mode settings are for/do. I figured it out enough to get it going, so I guess it’s not impossible, but there are a few settings I have no idea what they are for so I just left them disabled. The website for Moisture Medic says they can be installed by non-professionals and they provide warranty, but they really need to do a better job with their supporting documentation. I can only comment on the installation aspect. Quality and durability will prove out over time.

  55. Scott

I purchased the unit and received it 2 days later. Plugged it in and was dehumidifying my basement that same day. The unit is very well built and easy to operate. I had a question about the wiring of the external condensate pump, called AprilAire’s service and they answered my questions the same day. I am confident the unit will work well for years to come and am considering buying a second one for a rental property crawlspace.

  56. RN

For anyone wondering, yes it’s really made by AprilAire. The box that mine came in was clearly marked as a E070cc and included their installation instructions and warranty – plus an addendum about the 5 year bumper to bumper warranty. It’s knocked the humidity down a *lot* and we can’t hear it in the house at all.
FWIW, there was a small problem with my CC for this order that came up just hours before they were to close for a holiday weekend. The crawlspacerepair.com service people both called and emailed me so that we could get things cleared up and the dehumidifier shipped that day. I was really pleased with the customer service.
