The underlayment-42, worked well and seems very durable! I am now using my CrawlSpace for a storage space.

  2. Frank Combs

This is some really good durable stuff.

  3. Brian Taylor

I really liked the 42 it is the first time that I used it on a dirt crawlspace.

  4. Randy Taylor

The 42 was and is a must for installing the vapor barrier. I am so glad I did my research and found it. I can see where the 42 protects the plastic from sharp objects. It also helps to keep the dirt from getting all over the top of the plasitc during installation. Awesome product. Thanks Randy

  5. Thomas Papetti

    1) GOOD: This is not like roofing “42” , and shouldn’t be. 42 has an organic fiber base which will decay if continuously wet, as underneath a vapor barrier. This synthetic product is just what is needed as a vapor barrier underlayment. 2) OK: I got this to protect my vapor barrier from sharp-edged gravel which was already covering my crawlspace floor. As such, this product is OK, but not as thick as I expected. It is like an extra-thick landscape fabric.

  6. Tom Ferguson

I used all your products including the 42 550. I used the 42 in the event 88 was identified as a problem. I will always use the 42 on future jobs. Even a very well prepared crawl space will have small rocks and gravel that cause no problem when the 42 is used.

  7. James Gates

I am very pleased with the finished product. The materials were of high quality and worked as advertised.

  8. Mike McNulty

We have recently used the 42 5100 under our 20 MIL liner and I will have to say it’s a must. We will be using this product under our crawlspace liners from here on out.

  9. Mark Bailey

Once I understood what this was, I ordered and used 5 rolls. I covered my entire crawlspace floor with it prior to putting down the vapor barrier. It is strong and really is just what I was looking for.

  10. Michael Mongiello

Thanks for the follow up. Your products were more than what I expected, but I can’t say enough about the excellent support I received from your staff. I’m hoping to use your products on another project I may have coming up soon.

  11. Frank Giachini

I was very pleased with the quality of materials and the relative ease of installation. You get high marks for quality, service, and an excellent website.

  12. Alek Murray

I am very happy with the result since we converted a vented space that was a nightmare into one that was actually pleasant to be in. It should pay in utility bill dividends over the next few years.

  13. franklin davenport

I did not complete the order because I had a few questions to which I called and talked to Larry. He was extremely helpful, answered my questions and took my order. I am excited to get my project done and encouraged that my crawl space will be done correctly once and for all. Thank you for going above and beyond your job to make sure I got this stuff ASAP.

  14. Franklin Davenport

I usually don’t respond to reviews and stuff, but feel compelled to in this case. I was dealing with a damp crawl space for years and could not figure out what to do about it. It destroyed my floor by the rust from the nails staining through the linoleum. I found the CrawlSpace Solutions website and I can’t say enough great things about my experience with them as a company and the products I received… AWESOME and AMERICAN MADE. I had my order in 3 days as promised and what tough material this is!! Thank you very much, Larry, for all the instruction and advice. 110% impressed!

  15. Dale

This is a must under the plastic to protect it. It is very high quality and rolls out easily.

  16. Terry Magyar

I was pleasantly surprised how strong this is. I tried to tear it or poke holes in it, but I couldn’t. I put it on top of rough edged stone, before I laid down the vapor barrier. It’s much better than any of the alternatives I was considering. I’m very satisfied with it’s performance.

  17. jim

I have the crawl space from hell to encapsulate. The ground is covered with this awful stone that digs through your knees. The 42 550 was critical to my success. Why go through all that work of encapsulating and not take every effort to protect the vapor barrier from damage. I have 1800 feet of crawlspace floor and one third has a clearance of around 16 inches. Putting the 42 down first made it less nasty when I had to belly crawl on the floor to put the 12 mil vapor barrier up on the uneven brick foundation.

  18. rebecca ferrin

I would highly recommend buying this product when doing a “dry lock”. I would buy again!!

  19. RCA

Works great for protecting the vapor barrier. Doesn’t improve crawling comfort over loose stones.

  20. gene bowers

Easy to use and very strong. Would use again.

  21. Matt

    worked great!

  22. FueY

Product is great but I only received 41 ft of material. Not even sure how 9 ft of material can be missing. Needed about 45 ft of material to cover crawlspace. An area of 4×4 feet of my crawlspace has no material over it. Unfortunately I can only give 3 stars for quality because the roll i received did not contain the amount of material advertised.

CrawlSpaceRepair.com Response- Often when this happens it is due to inaccurate crawl space measurements and/or rounding off. Each roll is weighed prior to shipping to insure every roll is at least the minimum stated length. We contacted this customer after he submitted this review and came to an understanding that we were both happy with.

  23. deke

Was a little skeptical about this but once it arrived was very pleased with product very durable and looks great

  24. Matt K

Ordered and received 5’x100′ felt for installation in my home, as a consumer. It came shrink-wrapped on a roll, probably weighing 25 lbs. I was a little disappointed to find the product measured around 50″ wide. It was hardly 5 feet wide as advertised. We didn’t measure the length of product, but doing some rough math it probably measured 120-130ft or so. In either case it exceeded the 500 sq.ft. I expected.

I was concerned the narrow product would have a tendency to shift under foot/knee traffic in the crawl, prior to and during installation of the vapor barrier. Installation was simple. We secured the strips together with Gorilla Tape and it held very well. There was virtually no shifting. I would recommend this step.

Strength, thickness and cushioning provided by the felt are impressive, and will absolutely protect your vapor barrier from any sharp objects in the crawlspace. I would argue this product is probably more important than buying a high-dollar and/or high-mil barrier. We covered it with 6mil visqueen.

  25. Phil G

Very puncture resistant. It was easy to cut with a utility knife, but if you wanted to start a new hole in the middle of a piece with the knife it took some effort. The overall durability of the product remains to be seen, as it has only been installed for a week. Soft on the knees for crawling around and should protect the plastic from any tears.

  26. p rank

I was glad I added it to the project, it seems of good quality. It made it a much cleaner job installing the silverback.

  27. guitblog

very pleased with my recent orders, shipping was fast. The felt 550 is very puncture resistant yet easy to cut and lay

  28. geloware4

We doubled up the extra material in the areas that will experience high traffic areas. Easy to install and maneuver.

  29. Sticky tape

Works incredibly well. I plan to tape up a friend for Halloween.

  30. MC-DIY227

Decided at last minute to do this as added protection and absolutely happy I did. Builder had used 1-2″ of lime rock to cover area and didn’t realize just how sharp and damaging those rocks can be until getting in and doing the work. Strongly recommend everyone to consider this small investment as likely to save entire job over time!

  31. Gilles

I like this product for the big peace of mind at modest cost. It’s almost impossible to be 100% certain you got all the sharp, poky things out of the dirt but this felt takes care of that. Plus your knees will thank you when you forget your knee pads. The added thickness is a real plus and shows this company cares about quality and continual improvement. One last benefit: if you ever need to deal with radon gas, the felt makes a great air transfer layer u dear the vapor barrier.

  32. Keith Mcneely

What a pleasure it has been ordering from your company. This is my third purchase and it will not be my last.Your a high quality company and i appreciate doing business with you.

  33. Ryan

I used the Felt 550 to protect my vapor barrier from the crushed stone that lines my crawl space. I was very impressed with how strong it was. It was super simple to put down. I did put landscape staples through it to hold it down. It was challenging to get them through the felt. But a little hammering helped get them through. I really debated wether to use the felt but I am glad I did.

  34. Keith McNeely

Our crawl space was full of sharp edged gravel. The 550 felt was the perfect answer as a barrier between the 12 mil vinyl and the gravel. Easy to install and seam. im
It became almost like a cushion between the gravel and my knees. I would strongly recommend the use of this felt with any of the vinyl encapsulation product it made all the difference in protecting the vinyl.

  35. robbster

    Product is of good quality

  36. Sergey

Amazing product and exceptional customer service

  37. Faust

This makes a nice cushion under the 20 mil vapor barrier we bought. I first tried to cut it with a box cutter, but the box cutter couldn’t puncture the material. Then I got out a sharp pair of scissors and that worked great for cutting the pieces we needed. So, I think the felt will really protect vapor barrier from any sharp objects or stones. We pulled more than 50 rusty nails out of the dirt and I wanted to make sure that if we missed a nail we wouldn’t have a hole in the vapor barrier.

  38. JRH

Glad I decided to lay felt on the ground before tackling the rest. I am doing a 3200 sq ft crawlspace. All dry/damp sandy type soil. Large areas a very cramped so I am crawling on my belly a lot. Laid felt across the entire ground. I can walk/crawl without all the dust-dirt-rocks getting all over everything. A real time saver, makes the installation of the vapor barrier much much easier.
The only issue was that some rolls seemed thinner than others, but they were all thick enough to provide a complete cover of the ground. This is a very strong material.

  39. Joey

Outstanding product. Very thick and durable. No doubt this product will last.

  40. GULVEZAN

THE DURABILITY AND QUALITY OF THIS MATERIAL SEEMS TO BE FINE. HOWEVER, THE ORDER WAS FOR ROLLS OF 50X120. I ORDERED 2 ROLLS
AND THEY WERE BOTH SHORT 2.5 FEET. I CALLED TO ADVISE BUT WAS NOT
    OFFERED ANY TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT.
