West Bloomfield Encapsulated Crawl Space

Recently FIX MY CRAWL LLC completed a crawl space encapsulation project in West Bloomfield Michigan. This particular home had a family room addition added to the rear of the home a short time after it was built,  a typical crawl space foundation was employed to reduce construction costs. Upon inspection it was obvious that several attempts had been made to try and solve the ongoing heat loss and poor indoor air quality issues. The all too common black plastic was draped on the floor as was the freshly blown in cellulose insulation. What a mess!

After meeting with the customer and discussing their concerns about the heat loss, poor air quality, and rodents. We explaned the benefits of cleaning out all the contaminated insulation and sealing all the outside vents as well as a large area of the Wood floor structure under a bay window that had been left open since the addition was built.  After a completing the Silverback™ crawl space encapsulation process, all the open air vents and penetrations were sealed. The effect on both the indoor air quality and a more comfortable temperature in the family room addition were noticed immediately, and were observed on the hygrometer/thermometer that we install for every customer.
