CrawlSpace Concepts was formed January 2, 2007 by a successful contractor that has been in business for over 7 years and continues to operated his construction company Decked Out. He saw a need to help homeowners to finally resolve the issues related to a dirt crawl space. In the spring of 2005, the owner started his research to find the type of products that would hold up over time and accomplish the results that would forever end the dirt crawl space and the problems that are associated with it. As the technology became more widely accepted the products such as a dehumidifier made for a crawl space became less difficult to find. The biggest obstacle was the building departments and the current "code" for crawl spaces. Until recently it was thought to be more damaging to "close" a crawl space than it was to vent it. Research as proven that a properly encapsulated crawl space is much healthier than a dry, clean dirt crawl space. The building code was finally modified to allow for a "closed" crawl space provided it is done properly. Today it is no longer required to install vents in a crawl space upon construction.
